The waste management project will help reduce negligent littering and indiscriminate dumping of waste through awareness building, setting up of organized waste management systems and infrastructure, establish structures at all levels for waste and sanitation monitoring and planning establishment of locally based waste recycling technologies, development waste management plan for the municipality, and supporting Busia Municipal Council to enact by-laws on waste management and hygiene.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

YES, is working to contribute to the \u201cUgandan Road map for Accelerating the Reduction of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality and Morbidity\u201d. Within these aims, YES is also working to target malnutrition in children under the age of five and to build the capacity of service seekers. We endeavor to achieve the above aims firstly, through nutrition behavior change sessions, community mobilization and outreach sessions, and backyard gardens. These aims will also be achieved through football for social change activities focused on the importance of primary breast feeding, attending ANC and PNC services, and female empowerment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Improving economic development opportunity for women and youths is equally important to the goals of sustainable and equitable development. Youth and women education and training when integrated with basic health services an, expanded economic opportunities, and enforced rights are crucial to the success of sustainable development. As the international community is taking active role reversing gender inequalities by empowering women to assert their cultural, political, and economic rights without fear of retaliation, violence, or abandonment which our country is a signatory. Improving women\u2019s access to economic resources is imperative.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Food and energy production are the most critical of Uganda\u2019s many development challenges, growth in production is essential and the challenge for Uganda\u2019s policy makers is to enhance production in food and energy with minimal environmental damage. The environment in Busia remains under serious threat from natural and man-made drivers of change including poverty, unsustainable use of resources, lack of enforcement, rapid population growth, urbanization, agricultural expansion and the impact of climate variability among others. All this is as a result of low interest in mainstreaming environment planning.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
